Russia and China Complete First Joint Submarine Patrol in Pacific

Russia and China have undertaken their first-ever joint submarine patrol in the Pacific, according to reports from state-run media.

The mission, involving diesel-electric submarines, began in early August. Russia’s Volkhov submarine reportedly covered nearly 2,000 miles from its base in Vladivostok during the operation, the Russian Pacific Fleet said in a statement.

The patrol took place in the Sea of Japan and the East China Sea, highlighting growing naval cooperation between Moscow and Beijing.
